Sinusitis Chiropractic Treatment Portland
Sinusitis
It is estimated that anywhere from 30-60 million people in America suffer from
sinusitis at any given time. Are you one of them? Sinus congestion, difficulty breathing
through the nose, snoring, sleep apnea, chronic stuffiness, plugged ears, sensitivity to
pollens, etc., may be just a few of many symptoms. Visits to the ENT Specialist and
experimenting with over the counter remedies are a seemingly yellow brick road going
nowhere in helping the condition.
Changes in pressure, temperature, seasons, altitude, diet, etc can aggravate or exacerbate
this most common condition.
Causes range anywhere from birth trauma, falls, blows to the head, seasonal allergies, etc
Not being to solve this problem has caused a lifetime of misery to many.
Common treatments consist of nasal sprays, irrigation solutions, diet, essential oils,
supplements, allergy medicines, even surgery. Any of these may or may not alleviate the
symptoms but rarely do.
Birth trauma, head trauma is rarely addressed because so few know about it. Any type
of head trauma may cause the bones of the head to be constricted and unable to move
the way they normally should. What’ s called the Primary Respiratory Mechanism is
restricted. Instead of moving freely, the bones of the head are “ locked up” , and you are
basically “ driving around with the brakes on” . Unless this is addressed and treated, a
person may suffer needlessly for a lifetime.
Bilateral Nasal Specifics is a treatment that addresses this problem like no other
treatment. The treatment is done by inserting a small finger cot into the nose and
inflating it. This is done on each side of the nasal septum where there are essentially “ 3
floors” that allow air to either flow freely through the nose or not, creating the feeling
of being “ plugged up” . Each floor on each side is done once, and then the “ first floor”
is done again. A total of 8 inflations per visit are performed. In the hands of a skilled
Doctor, it is done quickly and effectively.
How does it feel? The kids describe it as “ water shooting up the nose like jumping into
a pool” . Sometimes it just plain hurts, but very briefly. How long does it take? Depends
on how “ tight” your head is. How often? Also depends. 6 treatments are generally
recommended to stabilize a condition. Maintenance care depends on the patient, although
it is generally recommended to keep the bones moving freely. Symptoms related to
sinusitis may be used as a guide for treatment. However, the decision to treat and number
of treatments is totally up to the patient.
After 30 years and thousands of treatments, I am uniquely qualified to provide this
treatment which has been available since the 1940’ s in Oregon. Having studied over
1000 hours with the developer of the technique, Dr. J.R. Stober, D.C., N.D., and my
own clinical practice, I have seen the dramatic and many times miraculous effects this
wonderful treatment has provided for patients.
